Comment créer des crêpes...

...voilà!  You'd hardly believe it, but these are made from an egg-free recipe found at this link:

Even our resident egg-free expert thought that there must be eggs in the batter, given the lovely consistency!  I think the secret is lots of butter.

The Grade 8's are old hands at preparing crêpes, so they were able to make them with ease and with a good degree of independence:

Garnishes: chocolate sauce, strawberries, powdered sugar and whipped cream

You have to wait until the crepes are cooked through before flipping!

I think the crêpe above was dubbed "the scrambled crêpe".

Grade 7 and 8 students have been working hard in groups on their scripts, "Téléjournal".

Grade 4, 5 and 6 students have begun drawing their amazing sandwiches and will start to write about them next week:

One huge sandwich in the making!

Our April calendar, with weekend weather predicted.

Finally, les grandes questions: Où est drapeau français? Où est le drapeau canadien?

Bonne fin de semaine!

French club

We enjoyed our second session of poutine with group 2 of our Gr. 7/8 French club:

Grade 7/8 students will be beginning to work on their rough copies for their new unit, "Téléjournal". Grade 4, 5 and 6 students have been practicing their sandwich vocabulary and have been expressing their opinions about various combinations of ingredients!  Est-ce que c'est un sandwich délicieux ou dégoûtant?  Opinions vary!

Enfin, la grande question: Où est le drapeau français? (The Canadian flag is also hidden with it!)

Bonne semaine,

Joyeuses Pâques!

On Thursday, Group 1 of French club relished this dish:

Poutine!

Grade 7 and 8 students reviewed verbs and interrogative expressions this week in preparation for their test.

Grade 4, 5 and 6 students continued to practice food vocabulary related to sandwiches, with variations on the game "Slamwich" which we started to learn last week.

Now for la grande question: Où est le drapeau français?

?

Voici l'indice:

Joyeuses Pâques! May the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ bring you new life!

Slamwiches, anyone?

Our Grade 4/5 and 5/6 classes have been learning food vocabulary related specifically to sandwiches this week as well as phrases that will help us play cards. We've been introduced to a new card game,Slamwich!

This coming week we should have enough vocabulary mastered so that we can break up into small groups and play complètement en français!

In Grade 7/8 we have been reviewing the verbs être, avoir and aller as well as our interrogative words as we will be having a test Wednesday! We will be starting a unit called "Téléjournal" where we will be breaking up into small groups and preparing a newscast. This work will be a culmination of all we learned this year plus some new material.

The Grade 7/8's (Group 2) enjoyed filling and decorating "une bûche de Noël' for French club this past Friday.

It was a yummy Friday! God reminds us how good He is by all the great flavours He has put into food. "O Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who puts his trust in Him."  Psalms 34:8

Bonne fin de semaine!
